Europäische Schauspieltalente im Rampenlicht der Berlinale
Der Shooting Stars-Event ist eine der zahlreichen Initiativen der European Film Promotion (EFP), um europäischen Filmen ein Gesicht zu geben. SWISS FILMS ist Mitglied dieser Vereinigung der Filmpromotions-Agenturen. Seit 1998 präsentiert EFP während den Internationalen Filmfestspielen Berlin die junge Schauspielergeneration Europas – die «Shooting Stars». Der Event hat sich zu einem Label und zu einer Talentbörse für Nachwuchsschaupielerinnen und Nachwuchsschaupieler entwickelt. Die Schweiz ist seit 1999 dabei. Seit 2008 wählt eine Jury die zehn Besten aus.
Soraya Sala
Biography
Born in Switzerland to an Egyptian father and an Italian mother, Soraya studied acting at the European Film Actors School in Zurich. She is an accomplished chanson and folk singer. After gaining experience as a stage actress and appearing in short films, she played in one of the major Swiss co-productions, Fredi M. Murer's “Vollmond”. This role and her part in the short film, “Nass” by Felicitas Korn, hugely impressed members of the British band, Reamonn, who hired her to appear in three of their music videos.
