Swiss animation film “Die Seilbahn” wins award in Austria
The 7-minute animation film “Die Seilbahn” by Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun was honoured with the Golden Unicorn for “Best Animation Film” by the jury of the 24th Alpinale Film Festival held last week in Nenzing, Austria (August 12-16, 2009).“An ultra-modern, charming, witty and endearingly illustrated story that is surprising due to ist wealth of artistic variations and delightfully captivating, especially because of ist outstanding, absolutely cinematic realisation,” explained the five-member jury in ist statement.
Four Swiss short films were among the 33 works from 11 countries participating in the competition of this year’s festival. Last year the film “What’s Next?” by Claudia Röthlin and Adrian Flückiger was also honoured with the Golden Unicorn.
