Jewish woman looking for Jewish man to marry: as an experiment, the thirty-year-old Jewish film director sets herself the task of finding a spouse in Zurich and discovers there are only a few dozen to choose from. In order to render the situation even more difficult, she invites the potential candidates to make the traditional Sabbath bread with her. And while the bread is baking in the oven, we are presented with three family portraits, candid accounts through which we gain insight into an array of topics concerning Jewish love life, ranging from dating sites on the internet to kosher love stories and the secret under Jewish women’s wigs. And at the end, six plaited loaves of challah are lying on the kitchen table. |
