Nicolas Wadimoff’s fiction film “Opération Libertad” (production: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich, and Akka Films, Geneva) as well as the 30-minute short film “Os vivos tambem choram” (“Les vivants pleurent aussi”) by Basil Da Cunha, a Swiss-Portuguese coproduction of Box Productions in Vaud, will be screened in the 44th Directors’ Fortnight section.

The cinema releases for three fiction films – “Sister” by Ursula Meier in Belgium and Luxemburg, “Hell” by Tim Fehlbaum in Poland and “Stationspiraten” by Michael Schaerer in Germany – as well as for three documentary films – “Die Kinder vom Napf” by Alice Schmid in Germany, “The Substance – Albert Hofmanns’s LSD” by Martin Witz in the Netherlands and in Germany and “Vol spécial” in France – will be subsidised with a total of CHF 73,500.
