SWISS FILMS at the Locarno Film Festival 2012

Swiss filmmaking is represented in all of the sections at the 65th Locarno International Film Festival (August 1–11, 2012): The documentaries “The End Of Time” by Peter Mettler and “Image Problem“ by Simon Baumann and Andreas Pfiffner are running in the International Competition. “Tutti giù” by Niccolò Castelli is part of the “Cinéastes du présent” competition. On the Piazza Grande, three new Swiss films are being shown: “Nachtlärm” by Christoph Schaub, “Das Missen Massaker” by Michael Steiner, and the documentary “More Than Honey” by Markus Imhoof. In the “Appellations Suisse” section SWISS FILMS is presenting ten Swiss films. These screenings are followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, hosted by film critics.
The SWISS FILMS pavilion is a meeting place for Swiss film professionals during the festival. Here the public can find information on Swiss films and follow their media coverage. Representatives of international festivals can gather information on new Swiss productions. Numerous cocktails are held to celebrate the Swiss film premieres and several organisations host networking events.
