My mother died when I was a child. Many years later I was suddenly overwhelmed by a deep feeling of grief. I began to film a sort of memorial testimony, each image one more stage of an extended farewell. In the style of an "open letter" the film refers to places associated with particular memories. A film essay with a contemporary perspective on a personal world that no longer exists.
Mia madre morì quando ero bambino. Molti anni più tardi un'improvvisa grande tristezza si impossessò di me. Ho cominciato allora a girare una sorta di diario della memoria, appunti/immagini che, passo dopo passo, costituiscono un lungo addio. A mò di lettera aperta, il film racconta i luoghi legati ai ricordi personali. Un saggio cinematografico sul tempo passato in una prospettiva attuale.
