A documentary portrayal of the events of 1966-67 based on Che Guevara's Bolivian diary, follows Che's tracks from the first moment of his arrival in La Paz right through to the jungle of the Nacahuazu river. It shows the landscapes of the Guerillas and the fights with the Bolivian army, and it lets the simple people of the country talk, passive eye-witnesses who were supposed to have joined the Guerillas but who did not in the end participate. Above all, it describes the last 20 days of Che and his men, their encirclement in the Yuro valley by the Bolivian army, and Che's murder in the village school of Higuera.
