1936, a German team of two men roped together – Toni Kurz, Andi Hinterstoisser – and an Austrian team – Willy Angerer, Edi Rainer – compete to become the first to climb the north face of the Eiger. Fame and Olympic gold await the winners. Also at the centre of the growing media attention is Toni’s charming youth girlfriend Luise Fellner who is aiming to make a breakthrough as a journalist with her report. Unforeseeable bad weather turns the competition into a struggle for life and death. In desperation, Luise attempts to save her beloved Toni from the mountain…
