At the age of 80, Sandro Pedroli, patrician from Bodio and physician in Zurich, looks retrospectively at his life and his commitment to political matters. It all began in the midst of a fascist regime in Torino, where Pedroli grew up and studied – and also took part in the resistance movement, under the guise of “Barba svizzera”. Sandro Pedroli tells of everyday life for a family in Ticino that was confronted with a totalitarian regime and the war. Together with his friends of that time, Pedroli also recalls the events of that time when he and his brother Guido (who later became the historian of the socialist party in Ticino and passed away in 1962) joined the resistance.
