In the tranquil village of Sieksdorf on the outskirts of Hamburg, village commissioner Klaus Burck has come to proper arrangements with the local population, as Eva Mann, straight out of the police academy, observes. The majority of the locals work for Jansen, a patriarch and owner of the bread factory, who runs a tight ship with his three sons Ralph, Marco and Frank. With the death of Nina Krohn, a beautiful young woman who is found dead in a lake, things begin to change.
