A cinematic portrait of four men and women who were former drug users in a program of controlled distribution of heroin (KODA) in Berne. The scope of this film ranges from their situation in 1996 after their admission into KODA to their current everyday lives. One of the protagonists is now living drug-free and works as a sculptor with stone. The second is well integrated and, after 11 years, is still receiving her daily heroin injection in the program. One is a diving instructor and HIV-positive, and the fourth vacillates between methadone and alcohol. Their past as junkies has left its mark on each one of them.
