The Salecina Meeting Center near Maloja, founded in 1971 by Theo Pinkus, bookseller and socialist from Zurich, soon became the socio-cultural, political mecca of the leftist intelligentsia. While the film is a tour d’horizon through the chronicles of the alpine think tank, it also reveals the changing Zeitgeist since the late Sixties. Furthermore, it is an endearingly emotional, self-deprecating homage to three generations of women and men influenced by Salecina, all of whom develop utopias for a just world at 1800 metres above sea level.
