The story of one of the most famous Russian directors alive today, Alexei Guerman, who has been working on his most recent work already for a number years. A film about a man who battles against conformity and advocates freedom. This renders his life difficult, but his art unique. A film about his complex relationship with his film crew, which he directs with an iron fist. A film about freedom and power, the hierarchal status in human relationships and the impossible dream of changing the course of history. A film about Russia’s paradoxes.
