The internet has changed everything, also for journalism: business models are falling by the wayside, news is available for free, anywhere and at any time. I accompany journalists in their daily lives, see how they struggle, and I do what they also do: I observe and ask, also question myself, my fascination and my suspicion. I, too, use the net with ease. I am a user – and I am used.
Da quando esiste internet, i mass media si sono radicalmente trasformati. Le notizie sono diventate una fonte inesauribile, ma sempre meno persone sono disposte a pagare per un giornalismo di qualità. Le redazioni sono sotto pressione: la riduzione dei posti di lavoro e una mediocre omogeneizzazione sono solo due delle gravose conseguenze. La fiducia nei media sta crollando, mentre la loro indipendenza è in pericolo. Ma i giornalisti sono davvero carenti come si pensa? Accompagnamo i collaboratori di varie testate – Der Bund, Echo der Zeit, watson e Republik – nel loro lavoro; osserviamo come lottano giorno per giorno e si sforzano ad adattarsi. Il regista fa come loro: osserva, interroga, analizza – anche se stesso.
