Le club des chômeurs
Fiction, 90 min.
Coproduction with foreign director
by Andy Bausch
Luxembourg / Switzerland, January 2002
A group of men spend their days in a bistro, always seated at the same table. In the middle of the table is a sign inscribed “Club des chômeurs – Klub der Arbeitslosen” (club of the unemployed). This is the meeting place of the last few nostalgic shift workers, adepts of the 12 o’clock siren. They dream of returning to a familiar past that was so much more friendly than the world of today. Their credo is based on three concepts: solidarity, manliness and “the genuine article”.
