One day I met a friend of Calcutta's mayor and he told me: You are a filmmaker, aren't you? Why don't you make a portrait of our mayor? Originally just planned as a portrait of the mayor of Calcutta this project gradually became – through various difficulties met on location – a shooting diary as well as essay on tinkering about.
