Justine, 30 years old and of Swiss and Haitian origin, is searching for a job as a soprano soloist. An invitation to the Berlin Philharmonic for an audition seems to be an ideal opportunity to realize her dreams. Upon arriving in Berlin, she is faced with a series of troubles, including the unexpected chaos created by her hostess Anja, who is an amateur boxer. The parallel stories of these two women develop into a parable about self-assertion amidst firmly established social conventions.
