Natalie and Maxim drive out to the Brandenburg forests for a weekend escape from the big city. They’re accompanied by their young daughter Flora as well as Natalie’s sister, Stella. During a rest stop, Natalie confides in her sister that she’s having problems in her relationship with Maxim. Once settled in the idyllic woods, old tensions and fears come up during a picnic by a babbling brook. It soon becomes clear that the only man in the group is an outsider. The seemingly harmless banter between the couple escalates and peaks with an unintentional denunciation against Stella.
