“Der Kreis” sold to Netflix
Switzerland’s box-office hit “The Circle” by Stefan Haupt, produced by Contrast Film in Zurich, was sold in North America to Netflix.

Switzerland’s box-office hit “The Circle” by Stefan Haupt, produced by Contrast Film in Zurich, was sold in North America to Netflix, the US streaming service, as announced by the film’s US distributor Wolfe Releasing.
The docudrama about the gay organisation of the same name in Zurich will be available on Netflix in the USA and Canada as of March 2015.
“The Circle” celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale 2014 in the Panorama section and was honoured with the Audience Award and the Teddy Award. Since then the Swiss film can boast screenings at more than 100 festivals, 13 international awards and sales in 18 countries on 4 continents.
“Der Kreis” is currently being screened at film festivals in Spain, Australia and France. In addition, it is showing in cinemas in the USA (Wolfe Releasing), Thailand (Bioscope) and Denmark (Reel Pictures) and will have its theatrical release in France (Outplay) on March 4.
