A retrospective of Fernand Melgar’s works will be featured at the 19th edition of the FIDOCS – Festival Internacional de Documentales in Santiago de Chile (September 22– 27, 2015). The programme, compiled in collaboration with SWISS FILMS, comprises seven feature-length and ten short documentary films from 1993 to 2014.

FIDOCS has already presented extensive retrospectives showcasing works by Swiss filmmakers in the past: for example, the International Documentary Film Festival focused on Peter Mettler in 2014 and on Richard Dindo in 2011.

Fernand Melgar accepted the invitation by Patricio Guzmán, the renowned Chilean film director and president of the festival, to present his films personally in Santiago de Chile. In addition, he will hold a masterclass. Furthermore, Alice Fargier’s successful short film “Le mur et l’eau” will be screened in the International Short Film Competition.

The extensive Fernand Melgar retrospective will travel further to Ecuador in October and be featured in the Cinemateca Nacional in Quito from October 7–11, 2015.
