Film producer Elena Tatti from Romandy joins the SWISS FILMS Foundation board of trustees in October 2015.

Elena Tatti (*1969) studied Philosophy and Economics in Fribourg and Lausanne. She founded Box Productions together with Thierry Spicher in 2004. With such coproductions as “Home”, “Até ver a luz” and “Iranien”, Box Productions had its international breakthrough within a short time. The three-part epic “Arabian Nights” coproduced by Elena Tatti celebrated its premiere in Cannes in spring. In autumn this over-six-hour epic was selected for the Toronto International Film Festival. The film by Miguel Gomez is in the running for an Oscar for Portugal. Box Productions makes a point of putting their international network also at the disposal of young Swiss filmmakers, for instance, Marie-Elsa Sgualdo (“On the Beach”), Christophe M. Saber (“Discipline”), or Kaspar Schiltknecht (“Bonne Esperance”, “Le mal du citron”), all of whom could celebrate significant successes thanks to their respective short films.

Monica Weibel and Pierre-Alain Meier are stepping down from the foundation’s board of trustees. During their tenure, both have provided expertise to SWISS FILMS thanks to their industry knowledge, their discerning attention and their tremendous dedication. SWISS FILMS thanks Monica and Pierre-Alain sincerely for their commitment.
