January 1957, a small town in French-speaking Switzerland. Clara and Thérèse two sisters with very different natures live together. Their father having been committed, they run the family business: the manufacture of high-precision lenses for weapons, and for research applications. One day the floor of the music room collapses, a victim of the terrible capricorn beetle. Soon after, at a meeting organised in the parish hall to welcome refugees from the Hungarian rising, the pastor’s wife suggests asking Kàroly, a regular Mr. Fixit, to repair the floor. The Hungarian’s presence is destined to bring about a number of subtle changes in the daily routine of the two women…
