«Das Fraulein» in Swiss Cinemas

The award-winning film «Das Fraulein» by Andrea Staka (Production: Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich) will be released in Western Swiss cinemas on September 20th, 2006, and in the German-speaking part of Switzerland on November 16, 2006 (Distribution: Look Now!). Shown in conjunction with this feature film will be the short film «Jeu/Play», the latest production of renowned Geneva animated filmmaker Georges Schwizgebel.
«Das Fraulein» is Staka’s first long feature film. It recently won two significant awards, the Golden Leopard at Locarno and the Golden Heart at Sarajevo. The film tells the story of three women from former Yugoslavia, each from a different generation, and their encounter in Switzerland. After the pre-premiere at the «Fête du cinema» in Neuchâtel with the director in attendance, and the showing of the film La Chaux-de-Fonds, it will next be screened at the Festival Images’06 in Vevey. It will then appear in Swiss cinemas with 5 copies distributed to Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, La Chaux-de-Fonds, and Fribourg.
