Vadim Jendreyko’s documentary film “Die Frau mit den 5 Elefanten” is continuing his successful career: the German Film Academy has nominated the multi-layered portrait of Swetlana Geier, regarded as the greatest translator of Russian literature into German, in the category “Best programme-filling documentary film”. The Swiss film musician Fabian Römer has been nominated for the film “Die Tür” in the category “Best film music”.
The film “Die Frau mit den 5 Elefanten”, produced by the Zurich company Mira Film and the German Film Tank together with 3sat and Swiss television, has already received numerous awards. Two weeks ago it won the Swiss film prize “Quartz 2010”. It has been showing in cinemas in Germany since the end of January. Its competitor for the coveted award is “Das Herz von Jenin” by Ernst Ludwig Ganzert and Ulli Pfau.

Back in February 2010, the 36-year-old Swiss Fabian Römer won the German Film Critics Prize in Berlin for his composition of the music to the film “Die Tür” by Anno Saul.

The German Film Prize, the most renowned and best-endowed award for German film, will be presented at a Gala ceremony on 23 April 2010.
