Documentary film prize for “Geburt” in Würzburg

The Swiss film “Geburt” by Silvia Haselbeck and Erich Langjahr was awarded the documentary film prize at the 36th International Film Weekend in Würzburg (27 to 31 January 2010). The authors of the film received the prize of 1,500 euro personally in the fifth-largest Bavarian city.
“Geburt” shows viewers the elementary, physical and sensual experience of a mother giving birth to her child. The 76-minute film, premiered at the Visions du Réel Film Festival in Nyon, has been showing at cinemas in German-speaking Switzerland since last autumn.
