Swiss director Fabienne Abramovich will be featured as the “Filmmaker in Focus” at the Crossing Festival in Peking. She is the eighth documentary filmmaker from Switzerland to present her films in Beijing and participate in a cultural exchange with Chinese filmmakers. SWISS FILMS thus continues the successful collaboration with its Chinese partner CCD Workstation, organiser of the Crossing Festival.

Swiss director Fabienne Abramovich is the “Filmmaker in Focus” at the interdisciplinary Crossing Festival held at the CCD Workstation in Beijing from October 6-12, 2012. She will present her films “Dieu sait quoi” and “Liens de sang” and conduct a six-day workshop with eight Chinese documentary filmmakers. Apart from hosting the “Filmmaker in Focus,” the Crossing Festival will also present recent Chinese documentary films and dance performances as well as a film programme of the Tampere Film Festival in Finland.

Cultural exchange programme in China

The “Filmmaker in Focus” project links the forum for recent Chinese documentary film productions with a showcase of works by a Swiss filmmaker and is one of the cultural exchange programmes organised in China by SWISS FILMS. With Fabienne Abramovich as the eighth Swiss documentary filmmaker to travel to Beijing, SWISS FILMS continues the collaboration initiated in 2008 with its dedicated and inspiring Chinese partner, the CCD Workstation, which hosts the Crossing Festival in autumn and the May Festival in spring.

Frei, Liechti, Melgar & Co
