Martin Witz was honoured with the Special Jury Prize at the 360° Contemporary Scientific Film Festival in Moscow for his film about Albert Hoffmann, who had discovered LSD. At the beginning of this month, the film had already won awards in San Francisco and Paris, topping off the continued success of the documentary film “The Substance”.

The Russian documentary filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky presented the Special Jury Prize to the Swiss film “The Substance – Albert Hoffmann's LSD” at the 360° Contemporary Science Film Festival (October 10-17, 2012). This marks the third international award for the film this month.

Audience Award and Audacity Prize

“The Substance” received the Audience Award for Best Documentary film at the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival in San Francisco (September 27 - October 4, 2012). During the same week the Audacity Prize, endowed with EUR 3,000, was presented to the producers of the film Elda Guidinetti and Andres Pfaeffli (Ventura Film, Meride) at the PARISCIENCE International Science Film Festival in Paris (October 4-9, 2012). These awards top off the continued success for the film which portrays the LSD story from its beginning to today. The film celebrated its premiere in Locarno one year ago and has since enjoyed an impressive festival career. It has already been screened on three continents and in 25 cities.
