German Cinematography Prize for Swiss short film “Polar” by Michael Koch

Michael Koch’s short film “Polar” was honoured with one of the ten awards presented in conjunction with the 19th German Cinematography Prize in Cologne on June 21, 2009. The award in the short film category went to Bernhard Keller, German cinematographer of Koch’s film.
The jury underscored ist statement with: “the steadfastly consistent narrative perspective and formal unity.” The 29-minute film “Polar” was produced, together with his two other short films “Wir sind dir treu” (2005) and “Beckenrand” (2006), at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, where Michael Koch studied from 2003 to 2008.
