Golden Lion for «Die Standesbeamtin» in Hachenburg (Germany)

The film «Die Standesbeamtin» by Micha Lewinsky has received a further accolade abroad. A week after Marie Leuenberger received the award for best actress at the Films du Monde festival in Montreal for her title role, «Die Standesbeamtin» has been awarded the Golden Lion at the film festival in Hachenburg, in the Rhineland-Palatinate.
The comedy about marriage, produced by Langfilm in Freienstein for Swiss television, was released in Swiss cinemas on 19 March. Since then, with 65,000 tickets sold, it has been the top national blockbuster (distributor: Walt Disney). The film will be released this month on DVD by Praesens Film. It is due to open in German cinemas on 22 October (distributor: Schwarz-Weiss).
