International awards for Swiss short films

Tobias Nölle’s short film “René” was honoured with the Grand Prix at the 26th Festival Tous Courts in Aix-en-Provence, Southern France (December 1-6, 2008). The prominent award is endowed with 1,500 euros and technical support amounting to more than 14,000 euros. Fifty-nine films participated in the festival’s international competition. Furthermore, the film “Ombre” by Alberto Meroni from Ticino won two awards at the 3rd edition of the “Mauro Bolognini” Cinema e Letteratura Film Festival in Pistoia, Tuscany (December 5-8, 2008): one for Best Screenplay, amounting to 1,500 euros in non-cash benefits, as well as the Youth Jury Prize, amounting to 1,000 euros in non-cash benefits.
“René”, which won the Pardino d’Oro for Best Swiss Short Film in Locarno in 2007 and the Grand Prize at the International Short Film Festival Winterthur, is one of this year’s most successful short films. It was honoured with major awards at the festivals in Clermont-Ferrand, Tampere, Kiev, Odense and Leeds.



The short film “Shadows”, which was produced by Villi Hermann, tells the story of a young girl whose grandfather creates a fantastic dream world for her.
