Pardi di domani award-winning films at 60th International Film Festival Locarno

At the 60th International Film Festival Locarno, the following prizes were bestowed as part of the Pardi di domain Swiss Competition:

The Pardino d'oro with a prize sum of CHF 10,000 went to Tobias Nölle for his film "René" (photo). It was the only Swiss film that also participated in the international short film competition. The Pardino d'argento, which includes film stock worth CHF 6,000, was given to Geneva director Florence Guillermin for her docu-fiction film "Latitude 203". "Icebergs" by Germinal Roaux took home the Action Prize for best new Swiss talent: the award comes with film technical services worth CHF 36,000. With his film "Il neige à Marrakech" Hicham Alhayat won a Film and Video Subtitling prize, which will allow for his film to be subtitled with three Western European languages. Finally, the Cinema e Gioventù jury awarded "Ménagerie intérieure" by Nadège de Benoit-Luthy with a prize for Best Short Film in the Swiss Competition, and it bestowed "The little Samurai" by Lorenz Merz with an honorable mention.

In the international competition, the Pardino d'oro went to Romanian director Adrian Sitaru for his film "Valuri". Ismet Ergün won the Pardino d'argento for "Bende sira". The Argentine film "Noy no estoy" by Gustavo Taretto was awarded Best International Short Film by the Cinema e Gioventù jury, and "Braedrabylta" by Grimur Hakonarson received an honorable mention.
