“Sooner or Later” nominated for IDA Award

The documentary film “Sooner or Later” (original German title: “Früher oder später”) by Bernese filmmaker Jürg Neuenschwander has been nominated for the renowned “Documentary Achievement Award 2003” by the International Documentary Association (IDA). The film has been shown in movie theatres in the German speaking part of Switzerland since October 23 and has resonated strongly with the audiences and the press. “Sooner or Later” discusses dying by portraying individuals who are in the process of dying as well as by following their relatives during those difficult times.
The “Documentary Achievement Award” is given in different categories, and it is largely US documentary films that are nominated. The prize of US$ 2,500 will be awarded as part of a reception of the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, CA, on December 12, 2003.
