Studio Hamburg New Filmmakers’s Prize for Manuel Flurin Hendry (“Straehl”)

On September 15, 2004, the Studio Hamburg New Filmmaker’s Prize was awarded for the eighth time. Swiss filmmaker Manuel Flurin Hendry won the prize for “Best Director” with his film “Straehl” (Producer: Dschoint Ventschr). The festival bestows 5,000 Euro to thesis films of German-speaking film schools in the categories of “Best Director,” “Best Script,” and “Best Film.”
This is the third official German recognition for “Straehl, ” after Johanna Bantzer’s new actress award for her role in “Straehl” at the Filmfestival Max Ophuels Prize in Saarbruecken in February 2004, and the NDR-Director’s Award for Manuel Flurin Hendry at the FilmKunstFest Schwerin in May 2004.
