Jadwiga Kowalska’s five-minute animation film “Tôt ou tard” (Lucerne School of Art and Design) was honoured with an award for Best Short Film at the 21st European Youth Film Festival of Flanders (February 21-March 1, 2009). The festival ran parallel in the two Flemish cities of Antwerp (February 21–March 1) and Bruges (February 22–28). The five-member jury presented the award, amounting to 1,250 euros, for which 10 European films were in the running.
“Tôt ou tard” has already won a dozen international awards and is in the running for the QUARTZ Best Animation Film of the Swiss Film Prize 2009, which will be awarded at the KKL Luzern on March 7.

The European Youth Film Festival in Flanders was held for the first time in Antwerp in 1989 and has also run parallel in Bruges since 1999. It is devoted to European short and feature films for young audiences, ages 3 to 14.
