Swiss director receives German television award

The prize for “Best Television Film 2007” went to the film “Rose” by Swiss director Alain Gsponer. It was produced as a collaboration of various broadcasting stations, including ARD, Bayrischer Runkfunk, Südwestrundfunk, and arte. With this award, the Swiss director receives an important acknowledgement by the German filmmaking industry. In addition to this accomplishment, Gsponer was also nominated in the category for “Best Director” at the German Television Awards, which took place in Cologne on September 29, 2007.
30-year-old Zurich resident Alain Gsponer completed his training at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy. His thesis film “Kiki & Tiger” has already received several awards. In 2005, his film “Rose” also received the Eastman Upcoming Talent prize.
