Swiss film “1 journée” wins in Montreal

Jacob Berger took home the director’s award for his film “1 journée” at the Festival des Films du Monde, which ended on September 3, 2007. One month ago, the film celebrated its world premiere at the Locarno International Film Festival. It was shot on location in Meyrin, Geneva, and Zurich, and was produced by Vega Film.
“1 journée” shows a day in the life of four protagonists whose home is Geneva. For Serge (Bruno Todeschini), his wife Pietra (Natacha Regnier), their 8-year-old son Vlad (Louis Dussol), and Serge’s lover (Noémie Kocher), this is a normal day yet happens to be unlike any other.



Swiss and British citizen Jacob Berger worked as a film critic in the 80s, studied film at New York University, and has produced numerous reports and documentary films for the Western Swiss television as well as for French broadcasting stations. “1 journée” is his third feature film.
