Three Swiss short films competing in Regensburg

Three Swiss short films will be participating in the international competition at the 14th Regensburg Short Film Week, which runs from November 21 – 28, 2007: “The Bellringer” by Dustin Rees; “Twist” by Alexia Walther; and “La Valise” by Kaveh Bakhtiari. They are among the 116 films which were selected from a total of 3,500 films submitted for the competition, and are in the running for prizes amounting to a total of 13,000 euros.
The film “The Bellringer” was made by Dustin Rees, of joint Swiss and British citizenship, at the Hochschule Luzern – Design & Kunst (HLDK), where he completed his studies in animation film. Alexia Walther, who is from Geneva and studied at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art Visuel (ESAV), will be competing with her debut film “Twist”, which has already gained a great deal of attention internationally. The Iranian-Swiss Kaveh Bakhtiari, who studied at the Ecole Cantonale d’Arts de Lausanne (ECAL), will be presenting “La Valise”, his seventh short film.
