Three Swiss television film productions nominated for PRIX EUROPA 2008

The television film production “Jimmie” by Tobias Ineichen (production: C-Films, Zurich / SF), with Shooting Star Joel Basman in the leading role, is the Swiss candidate in the “TV Fiction” category of the PRIX EUROPA 2008, which will take place in Berlin from October 18 to 25, 2008. Nominated in the “TV Documentary” category is the film “…die ganze Welt anmalen. 1968 – was bleibt?” by Peter K. Wehrli (production: German Swiss Broadcasting Service SF), and in the running for the “Prix Genève-Europe for the best television fiction script” category is the screenplay written by Yves Matthey and Daniel Vouillamoz for the television film “Petites Vacances à Knokke le Zout” (production: Bohémian Films, Geneva / TSR).
The PRIX EUROPA, under the patronage of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe, is the most important European media competition for television, radio and emerging media productions. A total of 582 entries from 36 countries have been submitted for the competition. Switzerland will be represented at this year’s festival with a total of twelve productions in competition: apart from the three television film productions, two radio dramas are nominated in the “Radio Fiction” category, three features in the “Radio Documentary” category and four productions in the online “Emerging Media” category. At the end of the festival week, twelve winners of the various categories will each be awarded 6,000 euros and the official PRIX EUROPA trophy.
