The 35th International Flanders Film Festival, held between 7 and 18 October 2008, is presenting two films from Switzerland: the short film “Ich träume nicht auf Deutsch” by Ivana Lalovic is being shown in the “World Cinema” section. It is participating in the “Prix UIP Ghent” competition, whose award winner is automatically nominated for the European film prize. The film “Tulpan” by Sergei Dvortsevoy, which won a prize in Cannes and which is a co-production by Cobra Film, Zurich, can be seen in the festival “Previews” section.
The International Film Festival in Ghent has been focusing on the subject of “The Impact of Music on Film” for the past 20 years. With over 200 films on the programme, it is unique in this field. Along with the Festival of Francophone Films in Namur, it is one of the largest film festivals in Belgium.
