Two Swiss film productions have been nominated for the Cinema for Peace Awards 2011: the documentary films “Impunity” by Juan José Lozano and Hollman Morris as well as “Seed Warriors” by Mirjam von Arx and Katharina von Flotow. The film "Impunity," which celebrated its premiere at the IDFA International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam at the end of 2010, has been nominated in the category of Cinema for Peace Award for Justice for its "portrayal of the victims' suffering and interests behind the civil war in Columbia." The film was produced by Intermezzo Film in Geneva, where the Columbian-born Juan José Lozano has lived for many years.

"Seed Warriors" will be screened in the International Green Film Award category because it analyses the issue of "overpopulation and shortfall in food supply." The film celebrated its premiere at the 45th Solothurn Film Festival and will be released in German cinemas this year (distribution: GM Films, Berlin).
