“Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” wins award in Clermont-Ferrand

Anthony Vouardoux’s short science fiction film “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” was honoured with the Médiathèques Award, endowed with EUR 1,500, at the 33rd International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand (February 4-12, 2011).

Anthony Vouardoux’s short science fiction film “Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46” was honoured with the Médiathèques Award, endowed with EUR 1,500, at the 33rd International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand (February 4-12, 2011). The Swiss-German coproduction participated in the International Competition together with three further Swiss film productions and a total of 80 films from 55 countries.

The Berlin-based director from Valais attended the award ceremony of the most important short film festival worldwide on February 12. The Médiathèque Award is one of the seven monetary awards presented at the festival, which attracted some 148,000 visitors this year.

This award for "Yuri Lennon's Landing On Alpha 46" marks the eighth it has won since it premiered at the Hamburg International Short Film Festival in June 2010. The film is among the five nominees for the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz" 2011, which will be awarded in the KKL Luzern on March 12.
