Laura, en début de trentaine, est de retour à Genève après des études à l'étranger. Elle vient de rompre avec son ami et ne se sent pas à sa place dans son nouveau travail. Un soir, elle tombe sur Simon, un adolescent qui tente de lui vendre des journaux détrempés. Elle lui propose de boire un verre, l'emmène chez elle pour qu'il puisse se doucher, et finit par l'héberger. Jusqu'au jour où un homme reconnaît Simon dans la rue et l'interpelle.
