Ce portrait filmique montre les paysages de vie intérieurs et extérieurs d’Annemarie Mahler. Née en 1926 à Vienne, cette artiste austro-américaine a dû fuir son pays à 12 ans et se rendre seule aux Etats-Unis. Un monologue intime se développe face à la caméra, qui se poursuit par quelques miniatures autobiographiques. Un art du récit qui évoque une merveilleuse enfance viennoise à Manhattan.
