Un détective de supermarché s’est secrètement entiché d’une vendeuse de la librairie du magasin. Régulièrement, il l’observe par l’intermédiaire du système de surveillance vidéo et la suit le soir dans le train. Alors qu’il est témoin de l’agression d’un prétendu rival, il n’intervient pas. Rongé par la mauvaise conscience, sa vie, jusqu’ici ordonnée s’écroule complètement.
