Emma (8 ans) s'est échappée de l'orphelinat et croit avoir trouvé la cachette parfaite chez Evelyne, une aveugle. Mais les nouveaux bruits qui émanent de son appartement n'échappent pas à cette dernière. Evelyne se prend au jeu de cache-cache avec sa nouvelle petite colocataire et apprend à connaitre le monde d'Emma avec des «yeux» d'enfant.
