1982 Master of Arts in Ethnologie, Psychologie und Publizistik. 1983-84 Besuch der Filmschule der New York University. 1983 Mitgründerin der Onix Film. 1984-87 Wohnt und arbeitet zwischen New York und Zentralamerika. Seit 1984 ist Baur freischaffende Filmregisseurin und Filmautorin, und wurde national sowie international mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Gabriel Baur lebt und arbeitet heute zwischen Zürich, Lissabon und New York. 1995–2010 Dozentin und Mentorin an privaten und öffentlichen Universitäten 2008 Mitgründerin der Onfeatures Film GmbH. Mitglied der Europäischen Filmakademie EFA und der Schweizer Filmakademie.
