Emanuele ist Theaterregisseur. Er liebt seinen Beruf und ist in die Vorbereitung eines Monologs aus einem der unvollendeten Romane von Dostojewski vertieft. Er lebt allein, hatte aber schon viele Frauen in seinem Leben. Für diejenigen, die er wirklich geliebt hat, hegt er eine obsessive und geheime Verehrung. Wo sind all diese Frauen? Vielleicht können uns die Bilder, die die Wände eines für sie reservierten Zimmers bedecken, mehr verraten. Vielleicht auch das Innere der auf eine Wand projizierten Bilder. Oder irgendwo anders.

Emanuele è un regista teatrale di 50 anni. Ama profondamente il suo lavoro e sta preparando un monologo da un romanzo incompiuto di Dostoevskij. Vive solo, ma ha avuto molte donne. Ne ha amate poche e a queste dedica un culto segreto e costante. Ma dove sono ora le donne che ha amato? Forse dentro quelle fotografie che coprono le pareti di una stanza a loro riservata. Forse dentro le immagini proiettate su un muro. Oppure da qualche altra parte.
