In einem kleinen Dorf ausserhalb von Sanandaj wartet die 60-jährige Maryam auf die Rückkehr ihres Sohnes Farhad aus dem Militärdienst. Eines Tages steht Farhad im Tschador gekleidet vor ihrer Tür und offenbart ihr, dass er nun als Frau lebt.
