Lucien Castaing-Taylor

Director, Cinematographer, Editor

Born in 1966 in Liverpool, England. Studied Anthropology in England. He is a professor at Harvard and, with Verena Paravel, created the Sensory Ethnographic Lab. He has made dozens of installations for the MoMa and the Centre Pompidou, before directing SWEETGRASS (2011) and LEVIATHAN (2013), films selected in dozens of festivals around the world and released in France and the United States. He codirected SOMNILOQUIES (2015) (Berlinale) and CANIBA (2017), Special Mention of the Orizzonti Jury, Venice Film Festival.
