Linus, a dedicated monogamist and Christa, an equally dedicated polygamist, are a couple whose relationship is full of passion and discord. They are constantly in the grip of major emotional upheavals for which they have no one to blame but themselves, and which ensure that there is “never a dull moment” in their lives. The cast of key characters includes another couple, Sybil and Franz, who remain true to the ideal of romantic love; André, an open-minded person from the Jura mountains who is a pure product of the “revolution of '68”; Ka, who likes to play with fire; Eva, Linus' ex-wife from Vienna, and their son Sebastian.
